Chefs for Healthy Babies

WSRS is proud to sponsor “Chefs for Healthy Babies” to benefit the March of Dimes.  It takes place Monday, October 20th at Union Station in Worcester.  Enjoy live music, fine wine and some of the area’s best food all to help the March of Dimes.  For ticket information, click here.

Hospice Volunteers Needed

VNA Care networks needs hospice volunteers to provide assistance, support, and companionship to terminally ill patients and their families.  Volunteers will receive training and ongoing support.  If you’d like more information about the volunteer program, just click here

A Night Out for a Great Cause

On Saturday October 18th, a fundraiser night out and bone marrow drive are being held at Classics Pub in Leominster.  Admission is free and there’ll be live music and plenty of raffles.  Proceeds from this event will benefit the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society.  If you’d like more information, click here

Concert to Benefit Worcester Children's Friend


Worcester Children's Friend is hosting an elegant evening of music on Saturday
Oct. 18th.  It's their 4th Annual Carriage House Concert, with proceeds benefitting the programs at Children's Friend, the oldest and longest serving family service agency in Worcester.

He's 54, Running 50 miles, for $50,000
Terry Shepherd is the Founder and Executive Director of Why Me and Sherry's House.  This October and January, he'll be particpating in the Newport and Bermuda Marathons to raise money for Why Me.  His goal is to raise $50,000 and he's asking you to help.  If you'd like information on how to contribute to Terry's double Marathon (and did we mention he's 55-years old), please click here.

Horizons for Homeless Children Needs Volunteers

Horizons for Homeless Children is seeking fun-loving, dependable people to interact and play with children living in family homeless shelters and domestic violence shelters throughout Central Massachusetts. A commitment of 2 hours a week is required for at least 6 months. Day and evening hours are available. Trainings are held regularly and are listed on our website. WSRS is committed to serving our community by providing Public Service Announcements. Public Service Announcements must be typed and faxed to 508-757-1779. They can of course be mailed to 96 Stereo Lane Paxton, MA 01612, or e-mailed to Greg Byrne: greg@wsrs.com   Due to the volume that we receive, announcements should be received at the station at least one month prior to your event. Please make sure that your announcement is of interest to the the whole community and that it is a not for profit event.
